Bet you can’t wog to it just once...

All too often, exercise music ignores melody for rhythm: thumpa-thumpa-thumpa-step-step-step-step-ho-hum. Why not let your heart sing to the song while your feet jog along? That’s why this week’s wog, Hooked On Melodics—and it’s a Wog-a-Thon at that—features some of my favorite pure melodies in pop music, without sacrificing a steady beat. The Beatles, Guster, Collective Soul, Sarah McLachlan, Til Tuesday, UB40—these are just a few of the artists who will stroke your eardrums while you walk and jog. It’s 63 minutes of brisk exercise bliss, and you’ll only find it at Podwogging.com.

Home from Vacation? There’s Still Traffic

No, not the bumper-to-bumper kind, but the GOOD kind. One of the most inventive rock bands to come out of British Psychedelia, Traffic blended jazz and British folk into rock rhythms to match Steve Winwood’s distinctive vocals. So relax, take your hand off the horn, and follow the flow for 36 minutes in this week’s wog, You Can All Jog In. At Podwogging.com.

But, I mean Jazz-ma-Tazz

Jazz purists may sneer at rock with a jazz bent as not being real jazz at all, but what of it? Jazz rock marries percussive power with lyrical expressiveness; if the beat is consistent enough, it makes beautiful wogging material. This week’s wog, Jazz-ma-Tazz, is also a flatliner—every song comes in between 120 and 129 BPM. Flatliners are ideal for treadmills, since they don’t require major adjusting between songs. This flatliner is a brisk walk all the way, and features Sade, Steely Dan, Weather Report, Traffic, and the Youngbloods. Immerse yourself in the vibe and the stride at Podwogging.com.

Reminder: Short samples of each song can be found in iMix; this requires the use of iTunes.
